A quarterly routine for exporting your OKX history

Guides · 2026-10-15

Nobody enjoys record-keeping, and on OKX it is easy to postpone because the history is always there in the app. Until it is not: reports may only go back so far per download, accounts get closed, and reconstructing a year of activity in April is a stressful job. A short routine at the end of each quarter keeps the files complete and makes any conversation with an accountant in Italy much simpler. Tax rules themselves are a question for a qualified professional.

Know which reports exist

In OKX, the account or assets area includes an option to download statements or history. Typical report types cover spot trades, derivatives, funding payments, deposits, withdrawals and transfers between your OKX accounts. Look at the list once so you know what is available. If you only trade spot, you may need fewer reports; if you hold perpetuals, the funding records matter as much as the trades themselves.

Download the same set every quarter

At the end of each quarter, download each report you need for the past three months. Name each file with the report type and the dates, for example spot trades for the first quarter, so you can find it without opening it. Keep the files in one folder per year. If a download fails or is cut off, check the date range limit shown on the screen and split the request into shorter periods.

Keep a short summary sheet

Alongside the raw files, keep a simple spreadsheet with one row per quarter: number of trades, total deposits and withdrawals, and any events worth remembering, such as a transfer to your own hardware wallet or a large withdrawal to your bank. Note the wallet addresses you own. This summary is not a tax calculation; it is a map that helps you or your accountant understand the raw files quickly.

Back up and keep the originals

Copy the folder to a second location, such as an encrypted drive or a backup you control. Do not edit the original export files; if you need to clean data, work on a copy. Before closing an OKX account or changing the email on it, download the full history. Records you cannot reproduce later are the ones you will wish you had kept.

Risk boundary: OKX Italy Guide

Digital assets are volatile and derivatives can amplify losses. This website has no login, wallet connection, deposit form or customer-support chat. A referral link only records attribution; it does not guarantee access, pricing, rewards, approval or investment results. Availability can differ by residence, legal entity and product, so no regional access is assumed from language or branding alone.
